History

The North Idaho Saddle Mule Club

was founded in January of 1976

Our founding members were:

Skip Allert     Bill Everle     Bob & Jackie Halfhide

Don Jacklin     Stan Jamison     Gayle Kiesz

Dick Waller     Larry Weber

A couple of these people were out riding their mule and decided to form a club.

They put an ad in the paper and the above people showed up. Now we have the wifes, children

and their offspring who have become members of our club.. We enjoy lots of activities with our

mule, including trail rides, packing, parades, showing, racing, and gymkhana events.

The purpose of our club is to promote good fellowship among mule and other

hybrid aficionados, to encourage, promote and develop the owning,

and breeding of mules. We also want to educate the public in the recreational

possibilities and benefits of the saddle mule and other hybrids.
